The first New Zealand Skepticamp

A Skepticamp follows the “barcamp” or “unconference” model. It is organised by the attendees on the fly as part of the event and allows for many short talks (and Q&A). This session is open to the public and registration for the Conference is not required.

The idea behind an unconference is to allow those attending the event to present short talks (5-10 minutes) on a topic. Typically the nature of the talks will run along a theme. With this event being arranged by the New Zealand Skeptics in the Pub and the New Zealand Skeptics Society that topic will be related to Skepticism. Hence Skepticamp.

With this in mind, all you need to bring is your interest, a topic (should you want to speak), your willingness to participate, and a good inquiring attitude.
